# Computer Science - Computer Technology Emphasis BS

## Major Requirements

### A major in computer science - computer technology emphasis consists of

a previously earned departmentally approved two-year computer-related degree, the computer science core, in addition to the following courses:MATH 141 | Calculus I | 4 |

and | ||

MATH 142 | Calculus II | 4 |

or | ||

MATH 132 | Applied Mathematical Analysis | 3 |

and | ||

MATH 133 | Applied Calculus | 3 |

Note all students must earn at least half of the required major hours at The University of Findlay. Required major hours consist of the computer science core, computer science area competencies (PHIL/ENGL/MATH), and major competencies (MATH). Students having transfer credit for more than half of the curriculum will be able to take elective computer science courses from (CSCI 285, CSCI 302, CSCI 330, CSCI 374, CSCI 402, CSCI 412, CSCI 414, CSCI 416, CSCI 423, CSCI 424, CSCI 445, CSCI 460, CSCI 470, CSCI 475, CSCI 497 [3 hours], or CSCI 498 [3 hours]) to make up these hours and further enhance employability potential.

MATH 141 and MATH 142 are highly recommended for students placing into MATH 140 or higher. Students considering graduate school are encouraged to take MATH 141 and MATH 142.
